Asanga was one of the greatest masters in Buddhist Philosophy in India, renowned specially for his meditation attainments.
According to the Mahayana tradition, Asanga was one of the founders of the Yogacara school, attained a deep state of meditative absorption and often visited Tuhista Heaven where he received teachings of Maitreya, the future Buddha.
More than 1,500 years on, his reputation as a meditation teacher through his texts is hard to surpass.
